Schools The Armourers & Brasiers' Company is now one of the leading charities in the UK supporting metallurgy and materials science. Grants are made from the Armourers & Brasiers' Gauntlet Trust, on the advice of the Company's Materials Science Committee. Encouraging an interest in basic science. Assistance with science equipment and projects in primary and secondary schools. Physics teachers update courses. Tower of London Schools Science Project.

• Establishing links between sixth-forms and university materials science departments to draw more students into the discipline.
